Research brief: Office pets cut stress

Having a cat around the office could ease work place tension, suggests a stress-busting guide from New Scientist magazine. Animals are known to relieve stress. In Tokyo, Japan, an ‘animal therapy’ centre has been set up. Office workers can pop in there in their breaks ‘to rub a feline belly or two in a home-like setting’.

A trip to an oxygen bar and a quick nap are also suggested to boost workers’ moods.
