Research brief: Easing jetlag with Viagra

Viagra could help people recover from jetlag, according to Argentinean research. The researchers simulated the effects of jet lag in hamsters by switching on lights six hours earlier than usual. A group of the hamsters were then injected with a low dose of Viagra the night before the induced time change. All the hamsters were monitored. The hamsters injected with Viagra were able to recover between 25 and 50 per cent quicker (PNAS Online 2007).
