RCN partners Open University to encourage training

The Open University and the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) have joined forces to encourage greater participation in education and training.

Offering flexible, work-based learning which is designed to fit around work and home commitments, high levels of learning support and the opportunity for you to learn while you continue earning are provided.

RCN members receive a 10% discount on many Open University courses.

Those starting soon include Creativity, innovation and change (B822) and Change, policy and practice (K826).

The first is a postgraduate interdisciplinary course for managers to give a grasp of principles underlying creative thinking and problem-solving. It promotes practical action. Registrations for the May 2009 course close on 31 March 2009.

The second is a gateway course for the postgraduate programmes in Advancing Health Care Practice and explains agendas, policies and priorities. Registrations for the February 2009 course close on 23 January 2009.
