RCGP names four GP clinical champions

Four GPs have been named as the RCGP's new clinical champions, who will lead the college's clinical priorities for the next three years.

Clinical champions for chronic kidney disease, you mental health, epilepsy and eye health named.
Clinical champions for chronic kidney disease, you mental health, epilepsy and eye health named.

The four GP champions are:

Dr Kathryn Griffith: chronic kidney disease; Dr Jane Roberts: youth mental health; Dr Greg Rogers: epilepsy care; and Dr Waqaar Shah: eye health with a focus on ageing.

 

Dr Griffith is primary care representative on the renal advisory group at the DH, and the only GP on the NICE panel for the update of chronic kidney disease guidelines.

 

 

Dr Roberts is chairwoman of the RCGP adolescent health group, and  NICE guideline development group member on societal anxiety disorder.

 

 

 

Dr Rogers is chairman of the UK GP Epilepsy Society and scientific advisor to Epilepsy Action and Epilepsy Bereaved.

 

 

 

Dr Shah is the RCGP eye care representative, and he sits on the DH eye care strategy group.
All four will act as clinical champions until 2016.
