Pulling power

Dr Rob Buckley, a GP at the Watledge Surgery in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, won a bronze medal at the World Indoor Rowing Championships in Boston, Massachusetts, last month.

Dr Buckley finished in the top three places over 2,000m in the 50-55-year-old category. He is also the reigning British champion in the same category. A rower for 35 years, Dr Buckley said he was pleased with his winning time of 6 minutes and 49.4 seconds: 'I was less than one second from silver, so I'm tempted to try again next year.'
