GPs Dr Peter Standing, Dr Helen Deakin and Dr Paul Norman from the Minden Medical Centre in Bury, Manchester, have won a £7,000 award for hypertension research evaluating primary care hypertension management against UK quality targets and prescribing guidelines. Dr Standing said their findings confirmed that quality framework prevalence data for hypertension were extremely accurate compared to previous community prevalence studies. The prize was awarded by Guidelines in Practice.
