Paediatric medicine - Wheezing disorders in preschool children

Dr Atul Gupta and Professor Andrew Bush discuss the different treatment options for wheeze in children.

Wheeze is defined as a continuous high-pitched sound with musical quality emitted from the chest during expiration.

Parents differ in their understanding of wheeze; some think it is a sound such as whistling, squeaking or gasping, whereas others define it as a different rate or style of breathing, or think it is the same as cough.1
