Only one in 50 England practices has closed its list

Only one in 50 practices in England has closed its list, according to health minister Ben Bradshaw.

In written answers to parliament, the MP for Exeter in Devon said that the 2 per cent figure was revealed in the quarterly PCT primary care access survey carried out in October 2007.

The number of practices with closed lists appears to be declining. A GP survey in March 2006 found that 2.5 per cent of practices in England operated with closed lists.
