Nurse income grows 15 per cent in three years

Nurse income has risen 15 per cent since 2004, latest NHS earnings statistics show.

Figures from the Information Centre for Health show that qualified nurses, midwives and health visitors earn on average £30,200, with an average basic salary of £26,200.

In August 2004 average total earnings were £26,400, with a basic salary of £22,700.
