News in brief: GP returner schemes successful

The GPC and RCGP have called for the reinstatement of training programmes to bring experienced GPs back to work. Returner schemes brought 550 GPs back to work between 2002 and 2006, but have virtually disappeared since the DoH cut funding for them early last year.
