News in Brief: Beating the January blues

According to UK research, 24 January is the most depressing day of the year.

Researchers at the University of Cardiff found that bad weather, debt, failed resolutions and lack of motivation were to blame for high levels of depression in January. It comes a month after the Christmas festivities when energy levels are low. The RCGP recommends exercise and reading up on depression as good ways to beat the blues.
