The first edition is a supplement to our quarterly journal MIMS Cardiovascular, focusing on cardiac MDCT (multidetector computed tomography).
Major advances in CT technology now enable the entire coronary tree to be imaged non-invasively and offer the possibility of complete non-invasive anatomical and functional cardiac assessment.
Here we present nine video case studies, demonstrating different aspects of the technique and its range of uses within the cardiology environment. Each video is accompanied by a text explanation and audio commentary.
The video images were created and selected by one of the leading experts in this field, Dr Ed Nicol, cardiac CT fellow at Imperial College and Royal Brompton Hospital, London.
There is also an exclusive video interview with Dr Nicol, in which he discusses the benefits of this new imaging technology for both the health professional and the patient being assessed.
