NHS England said it was taking action with all 26 CCGs that had been rated inadequate, and those that fail to improve could be disbanded, forced to share management with other organisations or replaced with accountable care organisations.

Each CCG's overall rating is an Ofsted-style composite measure derived from ratings in five categories - well-led, delegated functions, finance, performance and planning.

Overall, 10 CCGs are rated outstanding, 82 good, 91 requires improvement and 26 inadequate. Outstanding practices are found only in the Midlands and in the north of England, while inadequate practices are spread relatively evenly across England.

Use the interactive map below to find out your CCG's rating - outstanding CCGs are coloured blue, good CCGs are green, orange is for requires improvement and red for inadequate.
