Letters: Stem cell 'breakthrough' ignores ethical concerns

I was interested to read your article about stem cells and deafness (GP, 17 April 2009). Isn't it amazing that human fetuses are sufficiently well developed by nine to 11 weeks' gestation that their cochleas can be identified and stem cells harvested from them? Incidentally, doesn't this bother anyone?
