Letters: Prevalence formula spreadsheet available

Your article 'Prevalence top-ups 'could backfire' (GP, 9 January) states that: 'NHS Employers has written to PCTs in England warning of the destabilising effect prevalence changes will have on practices that lose out.'

No such letter was sent. The DoH designed a spreadsheet to assist PCTs to analyse out how the changes to the prevalence formula might affect them.

This spreadsheet is available on the NHS Primary Care Contracting website. To be clear, this is not produced by NHS Employers although we have signposted PCTs to the website.

Andrew Clapperton, head of primary care workforce and contracting, NHS Employers.
