Letters: Plain case of a very well informed patient?

I wonder if Dr Richard Davies's elderly patient who was asking about his 'limpet levels' was really interested in his cholesterol (Plain Tales, 10 April) or was he in fact asking whether his cancer was regressing?

See the European Medicines Agency's public summary of positive opinion for orphan designation of 'autologous tumor-derived immunoglobulin idiotype coupled to keyhole limpet haemocyanin for the treatment of follicular lymphoma': www.emea.europa.eu/pdfs/human/comp/opinion/28012506en.pdf.

Stephen Humphreys, practice manager, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.
