Letters: Obesity is not a medical condition with a solution

I'm sure Dr Lancelot does exist, but if he doesn't then I think I may have multiple personality disorder.

I know that if I could write as well I would have written this column word for word (GP, 9 January), apart from having to admit that I, and I suspect others, are starting to ignore some preposterous directives.

I am not recording ethnicity on principle. Nor do I intend to compile an obesity register. Obesity is not a medical condition and we shouldn't encourage people to think we have the solution.

Eat less, do more is all they need to know.

Keep up the good work.

Dr Keith Sumner, Castle Donington, Derby.
