Letters, calls and emails: Half of a range normally lies beneath the average

While I am not one who advocates or supports private providers in general practice, I feel that your front-page headline of 14 December does little to increase the credibility of your publication.

You note that private firms score less on quality points, stating that 16 out of 30 scored less than the average.

That is to say approximately half of private providers scored less than half the average. Well, there's a surprise.

And, of the rest of the profession, more than half scored over the average, did they?
