Letters: Abstinence better than vaccines against STIs

Along the lines of drugs, alcohol and cigarette smoking, should we not be teaching our teenage children sexual abstinence rather than encouraging them to be vaccinated against a sexually transmitted disease (GP, 7 November)?

Just a thought.
