Letter: Time to consult GPs over referral centres

Dear Editor

I read your article on referral management centres with interest (GP, 3 March).

Two years ago I set up the Mid Sussex Primary Care Commissioning Centre in full consultation with our GPs. Our GPs are using the information in connection with locality commissioning and are finding it invaluable. We have a contract with an independent sector treatment centre so need to use the commissioning centre for managing the contract numbers and the GPs all understand how important this is.
