I read your article 'GPs lose points in retinopathy testing delays' with interest (GP, 30 June).
We have been told by our LMC that if a service is not available - as in, the PCT does not/cannot provide it - we can exception report the patient.
This was helpful to us this year when our screening session was cancelled the day before it was due.
I can't understand why this should not be the case countrywide.
