Letter: £2 million for new premises? Forget it

Dear Editor

The sum quoted for a replacement health centre for us is nearly £2 million.

Lord Warner will be disappointed if he imagines that we could or would undertake such a project by ourselves (GP, 17 February).

The implication is that there is an intention to destroy primary care and replace it with a smorgasbord of uncoordinated services from big business providers.

Dr Steven Ford, Haydon Bridge, Northumbria.
