Increased funding for practice staff training

The Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Managers, Administrators and Receptionists (AMSPAR) has announced that their will be increased funding available for its level 2 qualification.

The Learning and Skills Council has reviewed the funding for all general further education courses and has decided to increase the funding available for the AMSPAR Level 2 Intermediate Diploma in Medical Reception (IDMR) by 44 per cent.

The AMSPAR IDMR qualification sits within the National Qualifications Framework and last year nearly 500 students throughout the United Kingdom completed the course.

AMSPAR chief executive Tom Brownlie comments: ‘We are delighted that the Learning and Skills Council has decided to increase funding for the IDMR by 44 per cent. This means that more colleges across the United Kingdom will be able to run this very prestigious course and it will become accessible to more students who wish to further their skills within the healthcare sector. This can only help doctors to provide a better service to their patients.’
