'Impressive' response to BMA Scotland consultation on GPs' future

BMA Scotland has received over 100 responses to a consultation on the future of general practice, the GPC Scotland chair has said.

General Practice in Scotland: The Way Ahead discusses six key areas including access, skill mix and infrastructure. BMA Scotland invited responses to the document in March.

Dr Dean Marshall told GP newspaper that the Association had now received ‘over 100 responses’ from groups including practices, NHS boards, patients and community councils.

‘I think that's really pretty impressive compared to how many these things tend to get,’ he said.

The BMA will be analysing the results over the next few weeks, he added.
