Practicing GP, Dr Richard Try, has created a way for GP practices to have a website without all the bother of negotiating with web designers or learning to program. Not only that, practices will be able to update their website as often as they like, whenever they like.
“The system is quite straight forward,” explains Dr Try. “A GP or practice manager logs on to our site, enters some basic details such as doctors’ names and clinic times and instantly creates a personalised website. We’ve already done all the hard work.” Practices will be able to change the style and content of their website whenever they like. The system has been designed to be easy to use with help available if needed.
The system, GPsite, is run by Medical Computing Ltd, the company Dr Try set up to create it. A two month free trial allows practices to fully evaluate the system with no obligation. After that, sites will cost £25 a month or £250 a year which will cover support, hosting and email forwarding. There is no advertising and sites look clean and professional.
