GPs spend just a fraction of taxpayers' billions

In response to your article, 'GPs judged on their data skills' (GP, 21 March), it is true that the NHS spends £100 billion of taxpayers' money and employs 1.5 million people.

But as with most things regarding NHS expenditure nowadays, this suggests that it's only GPs who are spending that £100 billion, with complete disregard for the millions/billions spent by secondary care trusts and PCTs.

Yes, flog the GPs again because they are the ones who are earning and spending the billions that are being poured into the NHS.
