GPs develop vascular risk assessment in Wales

GPs will be involved in the development of vascular risk assessment models in Wales, the Welsh Assembly government has confirmed.

Last month, health minister Edwina Hart announced that a group of clinicians would review the current provision of vascular risk management and assessment and recommend a future model for Wales.

A spokesman for the Welsh Assembly said: ‘GPs will be represented on this group as they are one of the most important stakeholders.’

Currently, 150,000 people in the UK die from vascular disease each year.
