launches new Inside Commissioning blog

The days of practices having only 'peripheral involvement' with NHS management are long gone, according to National Association of Primary Care chairman Dr Charles Alessi.

Launching's Inside Commissioning blog, Dr Alessi writes: 'Clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) are very different from their predecessors. Only by ensuring practices are connected and understand they have control can the tasks around implementation be successful. The days of peripheral involvement are long gone.'

Inside Commissioning will bring together the country's leading thinkers on how commissioning can improve patient care and will feature contributions from bodies including the NHS Alliance, the RCGP, and CCGs such as Nene Commissioning and Bassetlaw CCG in Nottinghamshire.
