GP to the rescue

A Surrey GP's six-month battle to claim more than £300 in fees for insurance reports he completed for a medical reporting firm has ended successfully, thanks to GP. Dr Raghunath Lall, of The Surgery in Mitcham, carried out reports in December 2005, and January, March and April 2006 for firm IMS.

Last month he had not been paid, despite calls. However, after a call from GP, a spokesman blamed a database error and pledged to pay. Dr Lall said: 'I have received the cheque, but with no apologies.'
