GP reporter wins national award

GP's clinical news editor Tom Moberly is the medical journalist of the year.

Tom was shortlisted in the Medical Journalists' Association awards alongside GP news editor Nick Bostock and senior clinical reporter Sanjay Tanday.

GP was shortlisted for medical publication of the year but lost to the New Scientist.

GP editor Emma Bower said: 'This is a fantastic achievement and really well deserved. Since joining GP last year Tom has produced some great exclusives, including the news that one in four GPs have treated patients for the side-effects of drugs they had bought on the internet, a story that gained huge media coverage in print, radio, TV and online.'

The awards were presented last month at a ceremony at the Royal Society of Medicine in central London.
