GP performed in Paralympics opening ceremony

Bexley GP Dr Ricky Gondhia donned a fluorescent rain coat and danced with an umbrella as part of a group of performers taking part in the Paralympics opening ceremony.

He attended 16 rehearsals to take part in the ‘enlightenment’ section of the ceremony on 29 August 2012, which was opened by Professor Stephen Hawking.

Dr Gondhia said: ‘It was difficult to juggle rehearsals but worth it. It's something I have never done before and probably will never do again. It's a fun thing to look back on and be a part of.’
