Free software available to help triage patients

Practices are being offered a free software program to help them prioritise patient queues.

Software company Plain Healthcare is offering free use of the Odyssey Receptionist Assessment program if practices report back on how they made best use of it.

The program is embedded within the EMIS LV software run by over 4,000 surgeries.

A receptionist can use it to triage patients - using a short list of questions on a drop-down menu within the software - and identify the patients who most need to see a GP.

Chris Coyne, Plain Healthcare's head of sales and marketing, said: 'The GPs who will get the software free will be selected on a regional basis.' For more details email
