Former RCGP chairman Professor Steve Field is among four NHS professionals leading the forum.

Manchester GP Dr Robert Varnam, lead for the RCGP’s centre for commissioning, and Kingston GP Dr Charles Alessi, a prominent NAPC member, are also among the forum members.

Consortia pathfinder lead for Huntingdon, in Cambridgeshire, Dr Simon Brown, and Smethwick GP and West Midlands third wave pathfinder clinical lead Dr Niti Pall are also on the panel.

The rest of the 40 panel members named to date – a handful of additions are expected – are from health charities, NHS organisations and local councils.
