Fight community hospital closures through courts

GPs fighting community hospital closures should consider legal action, according to a cross-parliamentary pressure group.

A meeting of the Community Hospital Association and pressure group Community Hospitals Acting Nationally Together heard that challenges against PCTs might be possible if hospitals are closed without adequate consultation.

The closures could be challenged under the Human Rights Act if fundamental services were removed.
