Fewer patients recall choice of hospital

The percentage of patients recalling being offered a choice of hospital for their first outpatient appointment is falling, according to DoH figures.

Provisional findings of the May survey were that 45 per cent of patients recalled choice compared with 47 per cent in March.
The percentage of patients aware before they visited their GP that they had a choice increased from 43 to 45 per cent over the same period.

The percentage of patients able to go to the hospital they wanted fell from 67 to 66 per cent over the same period.
