Scotland’s CMO to call for integrated approach to falls, fractures and osteoporosis

Scotland’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr Harry Burns, will present a blueprint for the future treatment and management of fractures resulting from falls or from osteoporosis at a conference in Edinburgh in May.

Over 300 representatives from the medical and caring professions from across the UK and Europe are expected to attend the two-day conference at Edinburgh Conference Centre at Heriot-Watt University.

The conference, chaired by Professor Jimmy Hutchison, Regius Professor of Surgery at Aberdeen, will bring together experts from the field of falls, fragility fractures and osteoporosis.

The Next Steps conference has been organised by a partnership between the National Osteoporosis Society, the Scottish Hip Fracture Audit and the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry Scotland.
