Dr Rupert Bennett

Tributes have been paid to GP Dr Rupert Bennett, who died in a climbing accident on Ben Nevis last month. A keen mountaineer, Dr Bennett was part of Sir Chris Bonington's expedition in 2000 to make the first ascent of Danga, in Nepal. Dr Bennett worked as a GP for Cumbria out-of-hours service Cuedoc and the Cumbria Air Ambulance Service. Sir Chris said: 'He was immensely caring and conscientious, a popular and good doctor.'
