DoH consults on free scrips for long-term conditions

Views on the long-term conditions which should lead to exemption from prescription charges are being sought by the DoH.

An online survey has been launched as part of the review of prescription charges by Professor Ian Gilmore, president of the Royal College of Physicians.

The government has committed to making prescriptions free of charge for people with long-term conditions in England over the next few years. The survey asks for views on the benefits of exemption for long-terms conditions, which conditions should qualify for exemption and what the impact of changing exemption criteria might be.

The survey will be open until 27 February.
