Doctors remain the most trusted profession

Doctors have comfortably held on to their lead as the profession most trusted by the public.

Ninety per cent of a representative sample of 1981 adults polled last November by Ipsos MORI for the Royal College of Physicians said they trusted a doctor to tell them the truth.

Only 20 per cent trusted a government minister to be honest and 18 per cent trusted a politician - or a journalist.
