DH salaries fall, but top officials still earn £220,000

DH staff salaries have fallen over the past three years, but top officials continue to earn over £220,000, data released to parliament show.

The median full-time equivalent salary for DH staff was £40,901 in 2010/11, but fell to £39,233 in 2011/12 and £39,111 in 2012/13.

The highest-paid staff in the DH received salaries of £220,000-£225,000 in 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012/13.

Staff in the MHRA are paid a median salary of £38,419 in 2012/13, while those working for NHS Connecting for Health will receive a median full-time equivalent salary of £50,542.

Information on officials’ salaries was deposited by ministers in the House of Commons Library.

The tables show the highest salaries, median salaries and lowest salaries of officials in the DH, MHRA and DH arms’ length bodies.
