Climb every mountain

A Cumbrian GP and his wife have climbed all 214 Lake District peaks listed in a famous series of guidebooks. Peaks featured in the Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland Fells, written by Alfred Wainwright in the 1950s and 60s, are collectively known as 'the Wainwrights', and include England's highest, the 3,210-foot Scafell Pike. Dr Robin Swindells and his wife Anna completed their challenge in eight months. 'Ticking off the Wainwrights has been a great way to keep fit,' he said.
