Charity campaigns for sex rights for people with learning disabilities

Clinicians working in general practice can get involved in fpa's Sexual Health Week (4-10 August).

Themed ‘It’s My Right!’, it is campaigning on the issue of the rights of people with learning disabilities to have sex and relationships and enjoy good sexual health.

A new set of posters, featuring models with learning disabilities, are now available at www.fpa.org.uk as part of an information package for health professionals.

Julie Bentley, chief executive fpa, said: ‘GPs have an important part to play in raising awareness of this issue among colleagues and examining how it affects any patients with learning disabilities registered with their practice.’
