RCGP Curriculum - 3.6 Research and Academic Activity
This section of our curriculum guide refers to statement 3.6, Research and Academic Activity, produced by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP).
The research undertaken in primary care enables GPs to test and improve clinical practice, and organise services to ensure the most effective care for their patients. The process of research, and implementing change as a result of the findings, involves whole teams and their patients, and requires a range of skills from GPs. Academic activity by GPs also comprises teaching and reflective practice, which are essential to the future of general practice as an academic specialty.
Here we have collated key articles from our journals to help you meet the curriculum requirements in this area.

These curriculum resources are regularly updated with relevant articles from our range of healthcare publications. All articles are reviewed by GP advisers. We have set the standard lifetime of an article at two years and will aim to renew all articles within that timeframe. However, some older articles will remain in the listing if our reviewers believe there to be no significant changes to the topic covered.
