RCGP Curriculum - 10.2 Men's Health
This section of our curriculum guide refers to statement 10.2, Men's Health, produced by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP).
Men are less likely to consult their GP than women, and experience more illness than women. They are more likely to have cardiovascular disease and are at higher risk of committing suicide.
Men also tend to take more risks with their health than women, which is reflected in higher rates of alcohol excess, smoking, poor diet, sexually transmitted diseases and accidents. So it is important to use consultations with infrequent attenders opportunistically for health promotion and education.
Here we have collated key articles from our journals to help you meet the curriculum requirements in this area.
