Change4Life health programme shows children do not get enough exercise

Nearly three-quarters of children do not get enough exercise, a survey of 260,000 families shows.

A survey carried out for the DoH under the Change4Life health programme shows that 72% of families say their children do not get 60 minutes of daily activity outside school.

A new TV advertisement for the campaign, which urges families to get up and about more, launched last week.

Some 45% of children watched TV or played non-active video games before school and only 22% did something active after their evening meal.
