Chair of NHS confederation awarded CBE

Responding to the announcement that Peter Mount, Chair of the NHS Confederation, which represents more than 90 per cent of NHS organisations, has been awarded a CBE, Chief Executive, Dr Gill Morgan, said:

“I am delighted that Peter has received recognition for the significant contribution that he has made to the health service at a national level.

“Peter has been chair of the NHS Confederation for over 3 years and in this time he has been an outstanding leader and advocate for the NHS. He has represented the interests of NHS trusts and their patients at all levels working closely with stakeholders and political parties to implement policies which will enable trusts to deliver the highest quality of patient care.

“Peter's passion for the health service is seen also in his commitment to initiatives which are close to his heart such as the work his trust has done to support refugee doctors for which he is a strong national advocate.”
