Blood clot protection

Prasugrel, a novel thienopyridine, could protect against stent thrombosis, suggests US research (Lancet Online 2008). A study of prasugrel and clopidogrel, used alongside aspirin, involving almost 13,000 patients, showed a reduction in ischaemic outcomes, regardless of type of stent used, delegates were told.
