AMSPAR Announces Increased Funding from Learning and Skills Council

AMSPAR, the Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Managers, Administrators and Receptionists, is delighted to announce that there will be increased funding available for its Level 2 qualification – the Intermediate Diploma in Medical Reception.

The Learning and Skills Council has reviewed the funding for all general Further Education courses and has decided to increase the funding available for the AMSPAR Level 2 Intermediate Diploma in Medical Reception (IDMR) by 44%.

The AMSPAR IDMR qualification sits within the National Qualifications Framework and last year nearly 500 students throughout the United Kingdom completed the course.

AMSPAR Chief Executive Tom Brownlie comments, ‘We are delighted that the Learning and Skills Council has decided to increase funding for the IDMR by 44%. This means that more colleges across the United Kingdom will be able to run this very prestigious course and it will become accessible to more students who wish to further their skills within the health care sector. This can only help doctors to provide a better service to their patients.’

AMSPAR was founded in 1964, and is dedicated to excellence in the field of medical administration.  The association is a professional body, educational awarding body and a registered charity.  For further information contact Christine Denmark, Marketing and Communications Officer on 020 7387 6005 or email christine@amspar.co.uk.
