By Susie Sell, 18 February 2010
A consultation to glean GPs' views on the current plans for revalidation will be launched next month, the GMC has revealed.
Professor Rubin, chairman of the GMC, wants as many peole as possible to contribute on the GMC website
The GMC is asking GPs, patients, ‘and all those involved or affected by revalidation' to take part in the consultation to help shape the process.
The consultation will be launched on 1 March and run for three months.
It will cover four main themes, including how revalidation will work, what doctors and employers will need to do, how patients will be involved, and how and when revalidation will be introduced.
Professor Peter Rubin, chairman of the GMC, said: ‘We want to hear from doctors, employers and patients. I hope as many as possible go to the GMC website and contribute to the consultation and share their expertise to help shape how revalidation will work.'
Details of the consultation will be available from 1 March at www.gmc-uk.org/revalidation
