Swine flu cases in England continued to fall last week, figures show.
Ian Dalton: How much GPs will be paid to vaccinate children aged six months to five years has not been decided
There was a small decrease in weekly GP consultations rates, down to 38.6 per 100,000 a week, down from 39.2 the previous week.
There was also a ‘substantial' decrease in the estimated number of cases in England, down to 22,000 from 46,000 last week, England's chief medical officer Sir Liam Donaldson said at a media briefing on Thursday.
How much GPs will be paid to vaccinate healthy children aged six months to five years has still yet to be decided, Ian Dalton, England's director for flu resilience, said at the briefing.
Also this week the RCGP has warned that GPs are being held back by PCTs from going 'full throttle' on vaccinating at-risk patients against swine flu to limit vaccine wastage.
